Covering Letter

If you are writing a letter:

  • Make a rough draft first and check your spelling.
  • Say which job you are applying for and where you have seen it advertised.
  • Tell them why you think you are suitable for the job.
  • Mention any exams you have taken or hope to take and any relevant experience, such as Saturday jobs, voluntary work or work experience.
  • Try to find out information about the company via the internet
  • and include it in the letter, this shows interest in the company.
  • Write clearly and neatly, or use a computer.
  • Make sure you include your address and telephone number including mobile.
  • Print your name underneath your signature.
  • Keep a copy of the letter.
